Dear Praying Friends,

Praise the Lord! We are excitedly packing up our belongings to move to Brooklyn, New York. It is so thrilling to know that we are finally headed to where God has called us. We have been raising support part time for the past two years, and we are about half way to our goal. We are trusting God to provide the remainder of our support so we can immerse ourselves in full time urban ministry!

We will be working with Memorial Baptist Church in Brooklyn for the next few years. This will give us some time to adjust to the differences of city life. You can keep up with our family and ministry at www.UrbanBurden.com. Would you please pray for us as we seek to see souls saved and discipled in this needy area of the city. Also pray for us as we continue to raise support on the East Coast. We are seeking to stay in NYC permanently, and it is a very expensive place to live! We know that this is where God has called us and that He will provide.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your sacrifices in helping to send us to New York. We are honored to be one of your missionaries! Urban Burden Ministries would not be possible without the sacrifice of God's people!

We made it safely back to Wisconsin on Monday night. Thank you so much for praying for us. We had a wonderful time in New York! After watching the fireworks, we were all craving Dunkin Donuts. So, we stopped at one on the way home, but it was closed. Of course we were all very disappointed. So,when we got back to the church, we went down to the kitchen to scrounge around for snacks and the whole table was full of Dunkin Donuts bags--donuts, bagels and muffins! One of the teen girls from the church brought them for us. What a special treat at just the right time!

The past two weeks we have been staying in Yonkers, in a house on the church property. Hava loves the little playground in the backyard. This girl goes non-stop all day. I don't think she ever gets tired!

Since I was holding Ian (and trying to take pics) Hava figured out a way to push herself on the swings.

NYC Update!

Thank you so much for your prayers! We have been moving at a fast pace so far! Last week, we were busy picking up NYSET members from the airport and showing them around the city. We also did some painting for Faith Baptist Church in Queens and witnessing in that neighborhood. Daniel also preached in the Wednesday evening service. Faith Baptist Church is the church the Lowerys started.

We had an amazing time this past week working in the Bronx. We worked with an English and Spanish church Sunday through Wednesday in the southeast Bronx. It was so exciting to see three people saved in the morning service as well as two kids in the park meeting we held on Wednesday. Of course Havilah loved going to the park. She enjoys watching the Gospel painting, songs, and stories! On Tuesday, we invited the church members to come out witnessing with us. Around 20 people from the church showed up! It was encouraging to see such a great number of people who wanted to share the Gospel in their own neighborhood! They were a very enthusiastic group. The Lord opened up many doors and the Gospel was given to many people! Praise Him!

We also ministered with Victory Baptist Church in the Bronx on Thursday and Friday. The NYSET group spent the two days mostly doing door-to-door ministry. We also had a great service with them on Thursday night.

Please pray for our week coming up in Yonkers. We will be preparing for a teen activity in the park on Friday night. The parks around here are FULL of kids and teens who spend their whole days hanging out there. We are excited to see what God will do!

We are very grateful for your prayers, support, letters and emails! We love hearing from you! Havilah and Ian are doing great! Havilah loves all the NYSET college students, and Ian is such a happy boy. We are very thankful for our children!

After the Gospel art, the kids are invited to come talk with one of the workers if they want to learn more about salvation. I watched Hava walk over with the girls and put a hand on one of the girls back and guide her over to one of the nyset girls. I don't really think she knew what was going on, but she was trying to help. :)

We have been talking about getting a double stroller for awhile, and we almost bought one a couple times. But, we decided to wait. This week we were given one for free! The Christophers from Memorial Baptist Church in Brooklyn found one for us! Although, it does need a little cleaning now, because the first time we used it, we had a run-in with a pigeon. It was a good thing that Havilah got out of her side to pass out some tracts or it would have landed on her head! :)

Dunkin Donuts for breakfast! What a great way to start our summer in NYC!
We arrived in Corona, Queens last night around 10pm. Havilah and Ian have been such troopers on the trip! But, while we were waiting for someone to open the church for us, poor Hava had an accident while sitting on my lap. Then, about 5 min. later Ian's diaper leaked on the other side of my lap. Now, mommy's crabby. :) So, I started thinking about how God uses little things like this in our lives to strengthen our character and draw us closer to Himself. I was reminded last night that in everything, I want to become more like my precious Lord, who always takes care of me! I became excited about the little trials in my life! And, then I thought, "let's go to sleep, because God's mercies are new every morning!" :)

I was also able to enjoy a nice relaxing morning with the kids while Daniel was out doing street evangelism with Pastor Sawyer, and spend some extra time in prayer for him!

We are headed for NYC! Please pray for safety as we travel from Ohio to Queens today. Ian and Havilah have been so good so far. Ian slept in the car all day yesterday and all night last night. Praise the Lord! Our first week will be spent in Queens. Then, we will be in the Bronx, Yonkers, and Brooklyn.
Thank you so much for your prayers! We're especially thankful for our family, supporting churches and our home church. We received some really sweet cards and gifts as we left yesterday!

Dear Praying Friends,

Psalm 34:8 “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man
that trusteth in him.”

Praise the Lord for His goodness! We have had a busy spring so far and
are praising the Lord for His guidance. We are so thankful for the
privilege of sharing our burden with the different churches we visit
on deputation. Please continue to pray that God will provide more
meetings.

We have several blessings to share with you all this spring. First, we
have had two churches raise our support and others let us know they
will be taking us on for support. Please pray that the rest of our
support will come in quickly!

Secondly, we had a wonderful start to this month with the arrival of
our son, Ian Daniel Klaus. He was born on April 2 weighing 7lbs 1oz!
We praise the Lord for a healthy baby boy. His big sister, Havilah is
very excited to have a new baby in the house, and she is a wonderful
helper!

Even with the time change, we were on time for our meeting Sunday morning (which started at 8:45am). Havilah enjoyed handing out prayer cards. She definitely makes our travels more interesting. After the morning service, the pastor dismissed us to our table. And, the whole way down the aisle Havilah kept dropping stuff out of her purse. Then, she tripped on her new shoes. :) We're so thankful for our little girl. She definitely keeps us on our toes.
We have two meetings scheduled for the last Sunday in March (baby-willing). We praise the Lord for the safety He has given us this year!

Dear Praying Friends,

What a great time of year to stop and meditate on the love of God. We are so undeserving of His love, yet He continually loves us with a perfect love. We have had a good start to 2011. This is the year we are planning to move to New York, so it has been particularly exciting for us. The last week in January we were able to take a trip to NYC to work on the nursery for a church in Brooklyn. It was an exciting time and we were thankful for the opportunity to serve the Lord there.
